TrimSpa diet pill has to be one of the most controversial weight loss supplements around these days. Does it work? What about all the publicity? And is it safe?

How Does TrimSpa Work?
TrimSpa's main active ingredient is hoodia gordonii. Hoodia works by suppressing the appetite so that you don't want to eat as much or as often.
TrimSpa also produces a line with thermogenic ingredients, instead of hoodia gordonii. Thermogenic ingredients are thought in increase the metabolism, and thus the calories burned.
What Kinds of Supplements Are Available?
Trimspa has a line of products ranging from pills, all the way through fruit bars and chocolates. Since the company produces several supplements, and not all of the supplements include hoodia, be sure to read the label to make sure you're buying the right one for you.
Does it Work?
You can't really argue with the before and after pictures on the TrimSpa website. The people obviously lost weight -- in some cases a whole lot of weight!
However, it's like any weight loss supplement -- if you don't even try to cut back on your eating, you probably won't lose weight. If you make even a small effort, then it's likely that TrimSpa could work for you.
Just don't expect to lose 20 pounds munching potato chips on the couch all day!

What About the Lawsuit?
You may remember hearing about the TrimSpa lawsuit, where people bought TrimSpa, took it as directed and didn't lose weight. TrimSpa did settle out-of-court.
There was a contention that the supplements in question didn't really have hoodia gordonii as an ingredient. Diet pills purchased and tested in the lawsuit timeframe had varying results. Some tests showed all the hoodia was present, some showed no hoodia was present and some showed that a small amount of hoodia was present.
Since the lawsuit, TrimSpa seems to be walking the "straight and narrow", so you are likely getting what you see on the ingredient list.
