Negative Calorie Diet Review

The Negative Calorie Diet is a very interesting eating plan.  The whole idea is that there are some foods that burn more calories than they contain, and the idea is to incorporate more of them into your daily diet to encourage weight loss.

You start out with a 7 day diet that allows you to eat until you are satisfied of different fruits and vegetables.  Chicken and fish are also included in the 7 days, so you're not just eating like a rabbit the whole time!

The author claims a possible weight loss of up to 10 pounds in 7 days.

There are a lot of recipes included in the Negative Calorie Diet, and most of them look quite tasty.  So it's not just a quick weight loss plan, but also a long term plan, once you have finished the first seven days.

The Negative Calorie Diet is available as an ebook, so you don't have to wait days for it to be delivered -- it's downloaded immediately.  And there are downloads for both Windows and Mac machines.  Naturally, there is a small cost involved, but it's fairly inexpensive and worth the price.

The Pros for the Negative Calorie Diet

The Negative Calorie Diet uses easy-to-find foods, that you'll likely find in your local grocery store.  You don't have to travel all over the place finding the ingredients for your 7 day diet.

You have actually quite a choice in your fruits and veggies -- more than I expected.  And there are no serving sizes listed -- it's eat until you are satisfied.  (Keep in mind that satisfied does not mean stuffed.)

I was pleasantly surprised to see many of my favorite fruits and veggies were listed as negative calorie foods.  Some I expected -- but there were a lot that I didn't!  

There is also one "ingredient" that I never, ever would have thought of on my own -- but which makes absolute total sense once you see it.

The long term portion of the plan is suitable for keeping the weight off, once you've lost it.  So once you've lost the weight, you aren't abandoned.

And Now the Cons

The writing is somewhat hokey at times, and the first 3 or 4 pages are (how can I put it) -- boring.  I had to keep telling myself it would get better (and it did)  

The 7 day portion of the Negative Calorie Diet is lacking in fats and protein, so it's definitely not suitable for more than 7 days at a time.  I would have liked to see at least a few low-fat ingredients included on a daily basis.  

There weren't any photos of the recipes, and the few illustrations were in black and white.
