Easy Exercise at HomeEasy exercise at home is the most fun way to get up an moving. You want to lose weight and look good, right? Then you want some easy ways to get started with exercise! You may not want to exercise, but you realize you need it. But when you're out-of-shape, you don't know where to begin. And you don't want to spend a fortune to do it, right? Where to Start and How Much?if you've not done any exercising in the last year or ten, you probably want to start out slow. Five minutes twice a day is a place to begin -- or 10 minutes once a day. Don't think you have to start out jogging a mile or doing a one hour aerobics class. You're just setting yourself up for pain and failure.
Of course, if you're really motivated after you've made it to 20 minutes, try any number up to 60 minutes. Easy Exercise at Home -- How Often? If you can only manage 5 minutes at a time, try it 5 days a week. By the time you make it up to 20 minutes a day, you can stay at 5 days or cut back to 3 days. Three days is the minimum, though. Whatever you do, don't do aerobic exercise 7 days a week. Your body needs some rest to help build those long, lean muscles that rev up your metabolism! What are Some Easy Exercises to do at Home? One of my favorite ways to exercise at home is put on some music and just dance! It doesn't have to be recognizable, just move your body to the music. Cost? As long as you have some music, none. Easy exercise at home stretching is another good way to easy into an exercise program -- not to mention get your body limbered up. If you know how to stretch already, your cost is zero. Need some help? Get a good book or video and learn the moves. Cost is less than $20. Walking at home (as in, in the house). Put on some walking shoes, turn on some music with a good, steady beat and walk to it. The only disadvantage here is that you don't know how far you've walked, unless you have a pedometer. Or, pick up a walking video and follow along with it -- you can find some good ones for under $15. Walking on a treadmill is another possibility. If you already have one that is gathering dust, you're ready to go. If you don't have one, expect to spend several hundred to a thousand dollars for a decent one. Of course, if the weather is nice, walk outdoors! Here's a brand new one on the horizon that is a total blast -- play games with the Nintendo Wii for weight loss! Got a pool? Jump in and swim! Don't know how to swim? Stand in water up to your waist and walk in place. Or hold on to the side of the pool, stretch out and kick your legs. More Exercise Info and TipsWould you like more ideas?
