3 Apple a Day DietHere it is -- the 3 apple a day diet menu, condensed for three days. On this page you will see typical days...but you'll also see how you can switch foods if you like.

I mentioned before that this diet does allow for some picking and choosing.  If you aren't comfortable with that at all, stick to the main plan for the apple diet plan menu.

What You Can Drink on the 3 Apple a Day Diet

Drink plenty of water on this diet, at  least 8 glasses a day.  You may have a very limited amount of coffee or diet sodas, a little more green tea.  Herbal teas are also permitted anytime.

Try not to drink anything other than water, if at all possible.  You can have some artificial sweeter, but only about half what you would normally use.

You may use any spices you wish on your foods, but you cannot use salt or spice mixes containing salt.

As always, the use of a vitamin or mineral supplement is recommended with any diet.

Presenting the Apple Diet Plan Menu

First I'll present each day of the apple diet menu program, then I will list your options for each day.  

Note:  all apples on this 3 day diet must be eaten with the skin on.  While you may cut up the apples into slices or chunks, you must leave the skin on, for its valuable nutrients and fiber.

Day 1

  • Breakfast:  1 apple  +  3/4 cup lowfat cottage cheese
  • Snack:  Celery  +  1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • Lunch:  1 apple  +  3 ounce can of tuna fish, drained   +  raw or steamed veggies, all you want
  • Snack:  Carrots  +  1 serving part-skim string cheese
  • Dinner:  1 apple  +  1 skinless chicken breast   +  mixed green salad  +  2 tablespoons lowfat salad dressing  + 1 cup sugar-free jello

Day 2

  • Breakfast:  1 apple  +  1 tablespoon peanut butter  +  1 slice rye toast
  • Snack:   1 serving part-skim string cheese   +  raw veggies
  • Lunch:  1 apple  +  1 cup plain yogurt   +  raw or steamed veggies, all you want
  • Snack:  1/2 cup of cottage cheese  +  raw veggies
  • Dinner:  1 apple  +  1 skinless chicken breast   +  steamed veggies, all you can eat   + 1 cup sugar-free jello

Day 3

  • Breakfast:  1 apple  +  8 ounces plain yogurt
  • Snack:  Celery  +  1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • Lunch:  1 apple  +  1 skinless chicken breast  +  1/2 cup brown rice
  • Snack: 1/2 cup of cottage cheese  +  raw veggies
  • Dinner:  1 apple  +  3 ounce can of tuna, drained    +  mixed green salad  +  2 tablespoons lowfat salad dressing  + 1 cup sugar-free jello

How to Mix and Match on the 3 Apple a Day Plan

On the 3 apple a day diet plan menu, you can make the following substitutions:

  • You can substitute the 3 ounces of tuna for the chicken breast at any time.

  • You can switch the morning and afternoon snacks on the same day, but not between days.

  • You can substitute an equal amount of cottage cheese in place of the yogurt if you wish.

  • You can substitute whole wheat bread for rye bread.
